Mardenagen - slightly misspelled loanword from German (where it is 'Mardernagen'). It's an unofficial term for accidents as a result of weasels/martens/etc gnawing at crucial parts of e.g. automobiles (a literal translation would be martengnaw). For example a car crash because a marten ganwed through the brake tubes without anybody noticing before the brakes failed at the crossroads.
