I have my doubts about that Russian vaccine. It came out so early that they simply could not have tested it properly.

It was a gamble and it paid well. Precisely because it was deployed early and on a larger scale is that it is probably safer than the western ones (more people vaccinated without serious side-effects). Sure, it could've gone horribly wrong but so far it seems that it works as good as Moderna and Pfizer.

It has been deployed all around the world at this point. I haven't heard any complaints from the Argentinians about the vaccine at this point.

I got my first shot two weeks ahead of being in the group I expected to be in. I think I got shunted up the line due to health conditions. That was 9 weeks ago. I am now anxious about my second shot as 12 weeks is only three weeks away, I need to book a carer to help take me to the health centre and carers are very booked up, and the health centre don't know if they will have the AstraZenica jabs by then, so can't book a slot and try to book a carer. I never thought it a good idea to extend 2nd to 12 weeks to get more 1st jabs done without evidence but I am now caught up in that, or even failing to get 2nd at 12 weeks. Also I would have peferred the Pfizer jab, not because I think AZ is problematic but just because Pfizer seems to have a considerably higher percentage efficacy. However when I have had my 2nd I plan to stop Shielding (inline with current rules).

The AZ vaccine's potential problems have caused minor chaos around here. The newest (and probably soon obsolete) regulation is to use it only on the old and to give a different vaccine for second shot to those that had AZ as their first.

The whole mess with the AZ vaccine is incredible, the odds of dyeing from clots is lower than the odds of dyeing from taking paracetamol/acetaminophen. Then the contamination issues and other mismanagement is really surprising.
